Everyday is like Sunday

Hey there everyone… I am back from my two-week trip to India, and am getting back into the swing of things: work, laundry, chores around the house, having band practice (and remembering the songs after some trying!), etc.
I’ll be posting more about the trip this weekend, most likely, along with some of my favorite photos, but for now, I’ll write the last thing I’ll probably write about Air France.
Remember how I said they played Radiohead on the flight? Well, everytime a flight LANDED, the first song to come on overhead speakers was “Everyday Is Like Sunday” by Morrissey. Another strange choice, given that some of the lyrics go “How I dearly wish I was not here / In the seaside town / …that they forgot to bomb / Come, come, come - nuclear bomb”. Yeah, so, another strange choice for plane music.
The night we got home, I decided to do a little research on the Air France music selection, and discovered the entire playlist and a press release about it. Had I been paying more attention to the in-flight entertainment selection, I would have known that I could have listened to these songs and a bunch more on the plane’s radio thing. But I did not. So, in retrospect, I salute their “wish to make travel time a moment of well-being and refined technology” through the use of a creative playlist. The downside was that they only played the same 4 or 5 songs during periods of taxi-ing, and after landing. However, in this small selection, my ear latched onto a particularly melodic track that I then needed to find out more about.
After going through the first few songs in the playlist they have listed at the above link, I came across the one I liked. It’s a song called “Barefeet” by a French artist called Readymade FC. I downloaded the guy’s album (seems to be that Readymade FC consists of one man) and listened to it. I mostly don’t care for most of the album, actually, but that one song is amazing. Or at least catchy enough to have been stuck in my head since I got to finally hear the whole thing in the comfort of my own home. I recommend it if you like precious French pop about a pair of shoes. Or something along those lines.
Anyway… more about the actual meat of the trip (now that I’ve covered the bookends) in a couple days!
