rainy day, flashing lights!

So this piece of equipment I had started malfunctioning. These lights shouldn’t flash at all, they’re actually used to denote various settings. But about 20 minutes into the dbx376 warming up, these lights start flashing and it also starts making weird noises that don’t sound so good on the recordings… out of the signal chain […]

Demos!

Been working on a couple things… Here’s a couple of demos…
Making Predictions: this is a demo of a song I’m most likely including on the upcoming EP; things aren’t exactly in proper time and tight yet, but I’ve been enjoying where this one is going.
I Got Carpet: even though the performing band the Low Hello […]

“Curious” on PBS

Pretty much just taking a break from a busy week to post about a TV show I saw this week about the brain and related topics. Curious, on PBS, covered a lot of topics, like a guy who’s missing his corpus callosum, studying frame by frame (of video) how a fly avoids things like […]

lager house

The Lager House, a bar that I’ve set foot in countless times during my 20s (either attending shows and hanging out in my early 20s, or performing with the Low Hello in the last couple years) has new owners and will be undergoing renovations, but will continue to have live music. Which is a good […]

Musical Language

On our way to and from the wedding we attended last weekend, my wife and I made the time pass by listening to episodes of Radio Lab she had burned to CD.
In particular, an episode from Season 2 entitled Musical Language struck my interest. In its three parts they speak about how a repeated speech […]

lately

I haven’t had much to say here! In my real life I have been saying things like “Sure, I’ll get that done by Wednesday,” on account of my being pretty busy and stuff.
My wife and I spent last weekend up north in the Beulah/Benzonia/Frankfort area for a lovely wedding on beautiful Crystal Lake. A decent […]
