Ambassador from '72 in Rajkot

So the header is taxi cabs in India now. I like this picture. My wife took it, so I should give her credit. She also took the picture of the penguin trashcan eating other penguin trashcans in the last post.

A lot of time was spent in taxicabs in Mumbai. We used taxis less often in Rajkot, Delhi, Agra… But we still did plenty of driving in cars driven by brave maniacal Indian drivers. We tried to take lots of good video of the driving experience there, but none of the clips do justice to how scary it is. About 20 times a day, you think you are about to die in a car crash. But somehow everything works out.

India is kind of like that. It just seems like this mishmash of hacked together “systems” that somehow miraculously works. Traffic, electric lines, water systems (my grandmother in Rajkot has a pretty interesting system involving water tanks, pumps, a sink that drains into an open groove in the floor of the courtyard), tiffinwallas…

Anyhow, I’ve reduced the links above to just Music and About. That seemed about all that was needed, since pictures and other such things will just be in this blog area, and it’ll be categorized as such. I also added the Sidebar Widgets widget because the theme I’m using didn’t natively support listing the blogroll, or any other links for that matter. So this makes it much nice. So there.

EDIT: Crap! The Sidebar Widgets thingy makes the sidebar start at the bottom of the page in IE. Dunno how I’m gonna get around that one…
